Snack Attacks - Taming Your Inner Cookie Monster

We're all guilty of having the infamous mid-afternoon snack. Have you ever wondered why, when the clock strikes 3, you're somehow miraculously transported to the nearest vending machine, chocolate bar in hand? The answer to that my friends is because you haven't snacked enough.

There is a reason why majority of trainers, nutritionist, and dieticians tell you to eat 6 small meals every 2-3 hours. It's not just to keep your metabolism active, it's also to keep those pesky sugar cravings at bay.  Depriving yourself of food every couple of hours only unleashes your inner cookie monster. That irrational side of your personality that craves calorie-dense food whether it be a cupcake or that piece of chocolate that turns out to be the whole family size block by the time you finish.

Your body comes equipped with hormones that acts as sensors which alerts your brain to tell you when you're hungry and when you've had enough.  But with sugar there is no shut off no signal sent to tell you that you are full that's why no matter how full you are you can always fit in sweets. So your brain wont tell you to stop its up to you to be strong and tell your brain to stop or say no. The easiest way to do it is to not start eating sweets at all. Because once you have the taste of sugar your body wants more and we have already discussed the lack of a shut off switch so once your off it will take a strong person to stop. So the trick is to not start keep hunger at bay all day long by eating every two to three hours so you are never starving and your resistence stays high all day.
