Training Myths - Part 3 Lat Pulldown

Behind the head Lat Pulldown


Hey guys today's training myth is more a mistake than a myth but the amount of times i see the lat pulldown done behind the head like the picture above it has become a myth. We have all seen it before at gyms everywhere but what about the poor persons neck. Us trainers are always saying chest forward shoulders back and keep your back straight. All three are impossible in this position. Also the neck is just the extension of the spine so who ever thought of this exercise is breaking the cardinal sin of keeping the back or spine straight. Lets hope we never see it again and only see lat pulldowns performed properly like the one below.
