Training Myths Part 5 - Training so hard your dripping with sweat

Training Myth Part 5

The more you sweat the harder you must be training

This is a commonly held view that if your not sweating then you must not be training hard. The amount someone sweats is dependent on genes not on how hard they are working. Some people sweat alot and others dont. I have known people who are sprinting hard out on a hot day yet barely sweat and others sweat heaps just walking in winter. A better guide is heart rate or breathing rate. For example if you are able to talk and train then you aren't training hard you shouldn't be able to carry out a conversation whilst training. Or if you have a heart rate monitor or are counting your beats per minute train between 120 and 180 BP Ms depending on your age and fitness level.
See you next week.
