Training Myth 9 - If you lift weights you will bulk up.

Training myth 9. If you lift weights you will bulk up.

Okay eventually you will but it wont happen overnight. This one applies to the girls fearful of lifting weights will make them look like Arnold.. If i had a dollar for every time i heard this one i would have more money than the Governator himself.

Muscles like Arnie's don't just pop out of the sky they take years of hard work in the gym.  Specific training programs centred around  training to your absolute maximum, training to failure every session until our body is sore that you experience DOMS every day because one day it might be your shoulders that are sore then the next it will be your legs. Just transferring pain to different parts of the body.  Then Sunday is a day off come Monday it all starts again week after week year after year. Until after many years you may achieve your goal. Even then genetics plays a massive role as does testosterone without those things on our side you still may not make it.  Your diet would have to be anywhere from 5000 calories per day of good food junk ain't going to help you. Only quality meats, fish, veg, fruit, nuts, eggs and legumes are going to help.So your pockets need to be deep it costs a lot to eat like a body builder.
Alot of body builders cut out cardio all together eating for these people becomes a chore where you have to force feed yourself food all day long to get enough in. So they don't want to burn any off with unnecessary  cardio.
It sounds like a how to be a body builder article now. Just getting the message over that it takes years of hard and heavy lifting to get anywhere. Sure there are a couple of genetic marvels who do it easier than others but its very rare and they still must train hard just not quite as hard as us skinny blokes. I should know i wanted to be big well not massive just bigger than i am now at my poultry 76kgs when i was younger. It was very hard so hard that without a good diet no matter how a tried in the gym i never got there. I wasn't a trainer then and didn't understand that a body is built in the kitchen as much as in the weights room as i know now. Nowadays im over that  and are happy just to keep the weight off instead of trying to put it on.

Many people turn to drugs - steroids. Speaking of growth hormone  or testosterone that's an essential ingredient to body building. The fact that women don't have it means that its near impossible. So when you see a women body builder or even Madonna its to be even more admired than men because she did without testosterone. So girls picking up a couple of 5 kg dumbbells isn't going to turn you into a Terminator. Oh if only it were that easy hey?
