How to survive a party!

How to survive a party!

How to survive a party, BBQ, work function, wedding or any event where there is a lot of yummy (but fatty) food on offer and lots and lots of drinks -alcoholic drinks calling out o you. Well you don't want to become a hermit that never leaves the house you want to go out be social have fun but not pay for it next week on the scales.
So how do you do it.  You must have a plan don't arrive hungry eat before you go. This is your last meal under your control before you venture out into the big bad world of temptation. So make it a good one -plenty of veggies and lean fish or meat to keep you full so you can pass by the appetisers without salivating. If you are hungry at the start your resistence is at its lowest you will never have the discipline to say no to the waiters or host bringing around the chips, bread, sausage rolls, crackers, cheese and dips. All no no food that will not fill you up but will fill your waistline. Must be avoided at all costs. Go for the proper food not snacks like a piece of steak at a BBQ or the actual meal at a wedding don't get involved in appetisers at all.
Because you have eaten before this will be easy the harder part comes at dessert time. This is the real test. Eat slowly so that desserts are already being eaten whilst you are still finishing the main meal this way you may avoid the whole scene. If that's impossible then try to leave the room go into the kitchen if its a house party and help with the washing up. Not only will your host love you but you can limit your exposer to the desserts. If your at a wedding or a place where going into the kitchen to help wash up would be weird and inappropriate then hit the dance floor or pop outside for a chat with someone. If need be and you are begged to have some cake that a friend has spent all day baking just have a small piece and tell them it's beautiful but you are so full you can't fit anymore in. Problem solved.
Next to the dreaded Alcohol the biggest no no of all -empty calories and a lot of them. Have one or max two if you must but you can't throw all your hard work away on booze be strong just say no. but if you cant do that then make an excuse that your sick or allergic to Alcohol. Which isn't hard to believe considering it is a provision and should never be consumed by humans or anyone for that matter who wants to live a long healthy life. So good luck and enjoy Anzac weekend just not too much lol.
